Right now I am reading "Skeleton Key" by Anthony Horowitz. In this story, the main character, Alex Rider, is investigating a deal between the Russian president and an ex-Soviet general. During his observations, Alex was captured by the general. But rather than torturing or killing him, the general develops a crazy idea and wants Alex to help him take over the world. Right now, Alex is trying to hatch an escape plan before it's too late!

It is a bit ironic that this post is a few days late, but that actually gave me extra time to finish the book I was reading! Who would have thunk? Anyway, I finished my book Point Blank. I read a lot since my last blog about the story, but I will try to sum it up as simply as I can. After Alex has lived with his new family for a while, he goes to the new school. For a few days, he is constantly on alert for suspicious things to note and to report back to MI6. He is snooping around the school one day when he overhears Dr. Grief and another man talking about a program that is being run, called the "Gemini Program." Alex finds out that Dr. Grief cloned himself 16 times several years ago. What he has done is surgically altered each clone to be an exact replica of each boy at the school. His clones learned every aspect of the real boys' lives and trained themselves to be exact copies. The clones would then be sent back to the rich families, and when they were old enough, would inherit the family businesses and theoretically take over the world. After hearing this, Alex summons MI6, who neglects to come for a few days. Before they can reach him, Alex manages to escape the school. He then joins a team of MI6 agents who raid the school and bust out the real boys. The clones are taken into custody. Dr. Grief and Mrs. Stellenbosch are killed during the raid. The plot of the story essentially ends here.
