Books
The first book I can remember reading was Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing in Mrs. Wagenbach's class in 2nd grade. I was reading with my classmate Rachel; we took turns reading paragraphs. This was a funny book that us 2nd graders could relate to. The first book I remember liking was Hatchet by Gary Paulson. I had to do a book report on it in 4th grade. I liked Hatchet because it was about a boy who survived in the wild by himself for a long time, and that seemed interesting to me. My reading journey has been one of reading as little as possible. I can think of several things I would rather do than sit down and read a book. I currently hold the same views of reading: if it's optional, I'm not reading it. My goal for reading this year is to read what I have to, no more, no less.
